North Mayo GAA club with fantastic initiative for Mayo vs Kerry game

Tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. the ball will be thrown-in for Kevin McStay’s first championship game as Mayo manager. However, there is fear that many will not be able to watch it as the game is exclusively broadcast on GAAGO.

Ballycastle GAA club in North Mayo have announced they will be broadcasting the game in their clubhouse so the community will not miss out on what is sure to be a cracker of a game in Killarney.

The GAAGO service has received a lot of pushback in recent weeks, the €12 fee to view a single game, and poor rural broadband infrastructure means many older people in Mayo will not have the chance to see tomorrow's spectacle from Fitzgerald Stadium.

But those in and around Ballycastle will have the opportunity to pop in to the clubhouse and watch the Green and Red, surrounded by their family and neighbours.

A fantastic initiative that I am sure we will begin to see a lot more of as the championship progresses.
