Water repairs timeline 'not good enough' - Mayo councillor

HOUSEHOLDERS in an area in Castlebar were left without water for two days when there was a 'blow out'.

It happened on Friday week in Annagh and they were without water until the Sunday afternoon.

“This is not good enough,” Councillor Michael Kilcoyne told a district meeting.

On the day of the meeting (Thursday last) there had been another blow out affecting Rowan Drive, he said, where water was coming down the estate.

Councillor Kilcoyne asked the council executive to write to Irish Water to ask why it took from Friday to Sunday to restore the water supply.
