Aussie rules club Geelong Cats have released a heart-warming video of Oisín Mullin calling his family back home in Mayo to let them know he'll be making his first start for the club this weekend.

The Kilmaine man has settled into life in Oz comfortably, earning rave reviews during his first few pre-season outings with Geelong Cats.

Typically, it takes a season or two for GAA players to bed into the demands of Aussie rules football and to adapt to the oval ball. But as Mayo fans know, Oisín Mullin isn’t your typical athlete.

Watch below as Oisín wakes his brother up back home in Ireland to let him know the good news. While his sister informs him "he's going to be famous!" and be like "one of the Kardashians".

His side, Geelong Cats, take on GWS Giants at 7.35 a.m. Irish time on Saturday.
