East Mayo school celebrates official opening of extension

CULMORE National School in Swinford has celebrated the official opening of its new extension.

Bishop Paul Dempsey and Deputy Michael Ring were on hand to cut the ribbon to mark the official opening and blessing of the school's new classroom.

The new classroom is a welcome boost to this progressive rural school, greatly enhancing facilities for its pupils and teachers.

Local Councillor Adrian Forkan extended congratulations to principal Hazel Cosgrove, the teachers and students on the celebrations, where guests enjoyed a fantastic presentation of music and singing.

He commented: “Culmore NS and the local community have worked very well together and it is a great example of how successful these endeavours can be.”
