Action sought on accident black spot at west Mayo junction

A WESTPORT councillor is looking for action to remedy an accident black spot at a local junction.

The junction is at the Westport Industrial Park on the Newport Road and has been the location of a number of accidents.

Councillor Mulroy has asked Mayo County Council to have another look the junction after 'numerous accidents' at it over the last few weeks.

He stated: “There is obviously an issue.”

Councillor Mulroy thanked everyone who has contacted him about the matter and said he will keep lobbying council officials until it is rectified.
