Progress on Mayo climbing wall project

A CLIMBING wall at the outdoor pursuits facility at the Lough Lannagh leisure complex in Castlebar should be a reality early next year.

The welcome news was delivered at a municipal district meeting where Councillor Blackie Gavin sought an update, saying he was concerned at how slowly things are moving.

Municipal district head David Mellett said some redesign work and recertification, with recosting, had taken place in May.

Tender documents are being prepared with a view to getting them out in the coming weeks.

The estimated completion date for the project is quarter one of 2024.
