Three life-saving eco powered defibrillator cabinets installed in south Mayo

THREE new life-saving eco powered cabinets for defibrillators have been installed in south Mayo.

They are located at the Bowers walk in Ballinrobe and McMahon Park and Mayfield loop walk in Claremorris.

In conjunction with the launch of the cabinets, Eco Powered Cabinets have been filming a documentary to be aired in September on TV Ireland Sky Channel 186.

Darren Forde from Hollymount is an award winner for his eco powered cabinets initiative which allows for 24/7, 365 days a year immediate access to defibrillators in rural isolated locations where a main power supply is not available, dramatically increasing the chances of survival for a person who suffers an out of hospital cardiac arrest.
