New business opening a boost for Mayo town centre

An new restaurant, serving Indian and Nepalese cuisine, is opening in Castlebar town centre.

The Everest Restaurant will start welcoming customers to its new premises at Main Street in the town from August Bank Holiday weekend.

The restaurant, which currently has establishments in Ballina and Westport, is setting up at the former Mulroy's Bar and Restaurant.

It is now seeking to employ full-time and part-time waiters.

The news represents a boost for the town's commercial sector.
