Status yellow weather warning in place for Mayo

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for wind and rain for the county ahead of the weekend.

The meteorologists have placed a rain warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster and Connacht.

They expect spells of heavy rain on Friday with it being blustery at times also.

Possible impacts MetEireann expect are some localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions

The warning is in place from 2 a.m. tonight to 7 p.m. on Friday.
