New pub opens on Achill Island

ACHILL has a new pub - The Basking Shark.

The pub, which opened its doors to customers last night, is located in the centre of Keel.

The McNamara family had a 'soft launch', with visitors and locals all welcoming the new addition to the island's hospitality offering.

The What's on in Achill Facebook page reported: 'Styled like an old-school local pub, The Basking Shark Bar encourages conversation and socialisation, devoid of a TV and a food menu, offering a refreshing and cozy experience.'
