Castlebar Tidy Towns receive Tesco Community Fund donation

CASTLEBAR Tidy Towns were the recipients of the most recent Tesco Community Fund.

The Castlebar store donates up to €1,000 every eight weeks to local good causes and community groups, with a cheque for €777 presented to Castlebar Tidy Towns vice-chairperson Ger Deere by Lisa Doolin, checkout and customer experience manager, Tesco, Castlebar.

The fund provides financial support to good causes and community groups that matter most to its colleagues, customers and communities across Ireland. Castlebar Tidy Towns was nominated and selected for the fund on this occasion from the Castlebar store.

Ger Deere expressed his deep appreciation to Tesco: “We greatly acknowledge the wonderful support that Tesco provides in giving back to the community in the form of this fund. This sum of money will go a long way in supporting our many environmental projects that we undertake each year as part of our programme for the National Tidy Towns competition.

“We encourage all of our volunteers and the general public to support all of our sponsors and contributors. We would also like to thank those that nominated us for this fund together with the Tesco customers that supported our nomination by selecting us at the community fund voting unit at the entrance to Tesco, Castlebar.”
