Mayo community anger over vandalism of trees
Members of Claremorris Tidy Towns have expressed anger over the loss of three town centre trees due to anti-social behaviour and vandalism.
A statement issued by the organisation said: "After all the hard work and investment made by many businesses and individuals to help make our town a welcoming place, it's so disappointing.
"For those choosing to socialise in Claremorris, please give respect and leave Claremorris as you found it."
The local Chamber of Commerce described the vandalism as "disgraceful."
A spokesperson stated: "If anyone knows who is responsible, please contact the local garda station.
"People give up their time and energy to make the town look clean and nice, the Claremorris Tidy Towns have done exceptional work over the past number of months.
"People can have a good night without ruining other people's day."
