Death of young Mayo man in Boston is deeply mourned

The death has occurred in Boston of Paul M. Rowland, Westport Road, Castlebar.

A member of popular and widely-respected family, the devastating news has cast a shadow of deep sadness and sorrow over the county town and further afield.

He died on Thursday in the excellent care of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Boston.

Paul will be forever loved and missed by his wife Amber, daughter Grace, heartbroken parents Joan and Paul, sisters Katie, Jenny and Aoife, his brother Jack and countless friends in Boston and Ireland, to whom heartfelt sympathy is tendered.

The deceased was a past pupil of Cistercian College, Roscrea.

Séamus Hennessy, on behalf of the college, stated: "Sincere condolences to all the Rowland family on the sad passing of Paul, a popular and much-loved past student.

"The Cistercian Monks will offer a Mass for the repose of Paul's soul in the coming days. Requiescat in pace."

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
