Mayo International Kite Festival returns to Achill Island

HUNDREDS of kite fliers and spectators of all ages will experience a visual feast at the Mayo International Kite Festival this Sunday, July 30, on Keel, Achill Island.

Brought to you by Pure Magic, Westnet, Keel Camping and Mayo County Council, there will be free entertainment, kite making and various kite competitions for all ages.

Kite enthusiasts and amateurs alike will paint the sky of Achill with vibrant kites. With spectacular sights of hundreds of colourful kites, it will be an invigorating event from start to finish.

Enthusiasts will build their own kites and show off their skills beginning from 1 to 5 p.m. this Sunday.

Francois Colussi, event organiser, said: “This festival is a wonderful way to bring friends and family together and this year’s show will be incredible as we invited some world class kite fliers such as Craig Harby from Wales, the Awita Team from France and many others flying artists. We promise an explosion of colours in the sky!”
