Mayo musician performs at Monaco birthday bash for Lord of the Dance

A MAYO musician struck all the right notes at a glitzy birthday celebration in Monaco.

Balla multi-instrumentalist Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín has just returned from the Mediterranean principality where she was invited to perform with the Lord of the Dance at the 65th birthday bash for Michael Flatley.

Also in attendance at the world-renowned dancer's bash at the Yacht Club of Monaco was Prince Albert of Monaco.

Éadaoin teamed up to perform with Eddie Jordan’s band later in the evening, while the maestro himself, Michael Flatley, also joined Éadaoin on stage for a few tunes.

Speaking afterwards, Éadaoin said it was an experience that she will never forget.

Éadaoin will be performing with Lord of the Dance at the Cork Opera House this August for seven performances, from August 9 to 13. Tickets for the show are available at https://www.lordofthedance.com/tickets/world-tour-cork-ireland-tickets-1c7k8v/ and it promises to be a sell-out.

She performs tonight (Wednesday) with her band LÉDA at the Deer’s Head in Belfast as part of Belfast Tradfest. Full details of the much-acclaimed Belfast festival are available on www.journalofmusic.com.

LÉDA’s latest CD, Oh Honey, is now available and is receiving very favourable airplay. The CD can be got on https://ledamusic.bandcamp.com/album/oh-honey.

All in all Éadaoin is kept on her toes these days. These latest performances come on top of a very busy last 12 months where she has graced stages from New Zealand to Canada, from Broadway to Germany and from Finland to Switzerland. Not to mention appearances throughout the island of Ireland.
