Exciting new wellness festival announced for Enniscrone
ENNISCRONE is bracing itself for a brand-new festival this September.
The Wild and Well Festival is a one-day celebration along the majestic Wild Atlantic Way, which fosters community and embraces holistic wellness. The event takes place on Saturday, September 23, in the breathtaking surrounds of Enniscrone.
With community at its core, the festival will entail a host of indoor and outdoor wellness related activities. It has a diverse line up of facilitators, performers and speakers from various wellness, creative and holistic spaces.
The event will equip attendees with tools, skills and knowledge that will help deepen your connection to yourself, others and nature through movement, breath, play and more.
The festival has been founded by Dr. Jennifer McKee, owner of the successful West Coast Wellness, based in Enniscrone.
Speaking of the festival aims and how the concept developed, Dr.McKee said that the festival is 'borne out of passion'.
She said: “I am passionate about fostering community and about helping people to connect with themselves. This festival provides safe and fun spaces to explore tools for connection to self, to others and to nature, with the added benefit of showcasing our beautiful destination and all it has to offer.”
With more announcements over the coming days, facilitators and speakers on the day will include online health and wellness coach Mick McDermott; Roots Wellness Ireland yoga instructor Niamh Glackin; coach and founder of Wolf Academy Ireland, Cormac Noonan, amongst a host of other specialists.
The programme will also include Stand Up Paddling (SUP) sessions with Harbour SUP, live music and performances, poetry, sound baths, creative workshops and much more. You will also be able to explore market stalls and enjoy the culinary delights on offer from local food vendors.
With Enniscrone located only minutes from Ballina, Wild and Well Festival have partnered with Mayo North Tourism in the promotion of the festival.
Manager of Mayo North Tourism, Mairéad Melody Carr, said: “As it stands, many visitors come and stay in Ballina and take in Enniscrone during their holidays, and vice-versa, that is why partnering with the exciting new Wild and Well Festival is a natural fit.
“The creation of new events and festivals such as this will have a positive impact on visitor numbers, and with 5km of white sandy beach and the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, I cannot think of a better location to promote the concept of wellness!”
