Bohola Post 50th commemorative edition launch this weekend

THE Bohola Post has been continuously published for 50 years since 1973.

That year some very foresighted people sat down and came up with the concept of a message to the world from their small parish on the west coast of Ireland.

That message has reached all parts of the globe and has always been ‘for those who went, for those who stayed and those who came back’.

To mark this achievement a commemorative 50th edition has been produced.

It is a summary of what the publication has been since 1973.

It includes contributions from those involved in editing, producing and reading it over those years.

It is being officially launched by broadcaster and journalist Michael Commins, composer of the song ‘Three Pubs in Bohola’.

Rory O'Dwyer of the O'Dwyer Foundation, who have very generously sponsored its production, is joining as guest speaker.

The launch is taking place at 6 p.m. this Saturday, August 5, in the Sheridan Memorial Community Centre, Bohola.

All are welcome to come and join in this celebration.

The Bohola Post 50th commemorative edition will be on sale and refreshments will be served.
