A sneak peek of the autumnal delights at Mayo's Linenhall
ARTYFACTS
THE Linenhall Arts Centre’s summer events season 2023 has wrapped up, however there is a whole new host of events to look forward to from September, over the autumn months.
In the meantime, two beautiful exhibitions housed in the gallery and foyer - Julie Merriman’s Attitude of a Plane and the group show Forhalla - are showcased to peruse and admire, with the gorgeous coffee shop remaining open, as usual.
To the vast range of highlights upcoming this autumn.
Music and art combine with a celebration of the legendary Brose Walsh Band.
Taking over the Linenhall stage on September 15 and 16 for two energetic performances, a retrospective exhibition of photography and archive material documenting the band’s incredible legacy will also be displayed.
Eighty-six years in operation, the Brose Walsh Band is one of Ireland’s longest established show bands, having played to audiences the world over.
THEATRE AND COMEDY
Theatre wise, several cracking shows have been programmed, including the acclaimed Tom Crean - Antarctic Explorer, Am I Irish Yet? and For the Love of Mary.
Local funnyman Ger Staunton is also on hand to have you giggling with a five-week introduction to stand-up comedy workshop and an event extravaganza featuring the top notch comedic line-up of Martin Angolo, Aine Gallagher and Julie Jay - excitingly as Gaeilge, but suitable for all levels of Irish.

There will be classical music performances from Dingle’s finest female duo, Lumiere, and engaging chamber aficionados, Marmen Quartet.
Music Network also presents the world premiere of Oscailt, an extraordinary multi-media composition of sound and video by the force of nature that is vocalist, improviser and composer Jennifer Walshe.
