Popular Mayo restaurant to close after 40 years in business
A popular Mayo restaurant is to close next month after 40 years in business.
The proprietors of the Riverside Restaurant in Charlestown will bring an era to an end in the east Mayo town on September 10.
In a statement on their Facebook page, they outlined: "We are closing the Riverside Restaurant and take-away business after lunch on September 10.
"Thank you for the support of our lovely restaurant over the last 40 years.
"We have great memories of staff and customers since we opened our doors.
"It was a pleasure to deal with you all.
"We are continuing our B&B Guesthouse business and look forward to welcoming visitors to Charlestown staying with us at Riverside Guesthouse Bed and Breakfast."
The statement was signed by Anthony and Anne.
Many good wishes for the future have been extended on social media to Anthony and Anne following their announcement.
