Passing of 'lovely lady' Anne Foy is deeply regretted in west Mayo

The death has occurred of Anne Foy (née Foy), Springfield, Castlebar, and formerly of Lodge Road, Westport.

She died peacefully at her home yesterday surrounded by her loving family.

The news has evoked a tremendous sense of loss and sadness in the community where she was held in such high regard.

Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband Billy, her son Michael, her son-in-law Michael Hynes and her loving parents Michael and Bridget Foy.

She will be sadly missed by her loving family - Liam, Ruby, Martha, Jean and John - her sister Kathleen, sons-in-law Brendan and Seamus and her daughters-in-law Geraldine, Denise and Pamela, her 19 adored grandchildren and her cherished great grand-children, her brother-in-law Larry and all her nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Many warm tributes are being paid to Anne on the condolences page of RIP.ie.

"Anne was a very special lady and she will be greatly missed," one stated.

"A lovely lady who always had a smile on her face," another said.

A further tribute stated: "I have wonderful memories of Anne's generosity and love for her family."

Anne will repose at her residence at Springfield, Castlebar (F23R611), on Monday from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m.

Her funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Afterwards Anne will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar, beside her beloved husband Billy.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
