Conor Heneghan and Danny McNamara.

Two Mayo men to appear on televised darts tournament

Roundfort's Conor Heneghan will return to the UK next week for the Modus Super Series weekly darts tournament where a £5,000 prize awaits the winner.

The event, which is held in Portsmouth, is live on Sky Channel 427 and via the Modus Super Series YouTube channel.

Conor has had great success at this event in the past, hitting a nine dart finish on two occasions and also reaching the final a couple of times.

Heneghan will be hoping its third time lucky to get his hands on the weekly trophy, which would also secure him a spot in Champions week, where the winner takes home a £20,000 first prize.

Meanwhile, Claremorris man Danny McNamara will also be on stage at the Super Series, where he has been a professional referee for the organisation since the beginning of this year.

A former referee with the Irish National Darts Organisation, Danny was offered a full time contract with Modus Sports Management, a company who is a sponsor of Heneghan, and other high profile players such as former World Champions Michael Van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price.

Local businesses Western Truck & Trailer and CBE are proud sponsors of Danny.

Best wishes to Conor on the oche and to Danny on the mic!
