Exploring new horizons in Mayo

HER Outdoors Week is a resounding success for women across the county

Mayo Sports Partnership has lauded the overwhelming success of HER Outdoors Week 2023, an empowering and adventurous initiative that brought together women from all walks of life to celebrate the outdoors.

With 30 captivating events and an enthusiastic participation of almost 400 women, the week proved to be an inspiring and memorable experience for all in Mayo.

The week-long celebration featured a diverse range of activities, catering to various interests and fitness levels. Notably, the "Yoga and Dip" sessions at six locations attracted great enthusiasm, with a staggering 110 registrations.

One of the highlights of HER Outdoors Week 2023 was the Yoga & Dip session at Mulranny beach, led by the talented Andrea from Clear Calm Yoga.

This session allowed participants to embrace the soothing serenity of the beach while practicing yoga, promoting both physical and mental well-being. We were delighted to have Joanne Kennedy, Participation Executive, Sports Ireland join us for this event.

Another exciting event was the introduction of a modern Korean martial art experience from Haedong Kumdo.

At Castlebar Mitchels, hosted by Katarzyna Milek Wirniewska, 20 women took part in this thrilling martial arts session held in partnership with Swim Ireland and Haedong Kumdo.

It encouraged women to explore new horizons, develop self-confidence, and embrace the spirit of adventure. Renowned photographer Alison Laredo beautifully captured the essence of these experiences, preserving the memories of these events.
