Mayo GAA club launches ambitious fundraiser

Kilmaine GAA/LGFA have launched an ambitious fundraiser to help realise development in order to meet the needs of a growing community.

The launch took place on Sunday following the Egan Jewellers Mayo Intermediate Football Championship clash at home to Castlebar Mitchels B.

The winner of this initiative – www.winafusion4.com – will collect a McHale Fusion 4 Plus baler, with the option of taking €75,000 cash as an alternative.

The fundraiser will play a major role in helping Kilmaine GAA Club along with Kilmaine LGFA develop new playing and training facilities on land adjacent to the current Community Field in Kilmaine.

Kilmaine GAA Club was founded in 1937. In 1982, Kilmaine Community Council was founded with the goal of providing facilities for the parish.

The club successfully raised funds to purchase and develop land, and thus the Kilmaine Community Ground was developed.

The grounds were officially opened in 1987 and have since been expanded with a new stand, dug-outs and gym. The community is proud of the pitch and facilities they have developed over the years. However, further development is now needed in order to meet the needs of the community and sporting teams.

“We have a plan and through everyone’s support of the www.winafusion4.com raffle, we will be able to make our plans a reality for the benefit of current and future members of our community and teams,” said Kilmaine GAA Club secretary Pat Kelly.

The McHale family have been long associated with Kilmaine GAA and have been club sponsors for well over 30 years.
