Residents of Bangor Erris are voicing their concerns over a pressing health and safety issue stemming from inadequate parking facilities outside their local medical centre.

The situation is of grave concern to patients and staff who are calling on the HSE to act before a serious accident occurs.

Community volunteer John Cosgrove has been a vocal advocate, shedding light on the perilous conditions patients and staff face daily due to the lack of proper parking.

Currently they are forced to park along the busy N59 road, putting their safety at risk. It also means those with limited mobility and the elderly struggle to get in and out of their cars safely and into the facility.

Efforts to resolve this issue have involved political representation, county council engineers, and the Gardaí. However, all parties involved have deemed the matter to be squarely within the jurisdiction of the Health Service Executive (HSE), which, unfortunately, has not yet taken decisive action to rectify the situation.

Residents are now calling upon the HSE to promptly intervene and alleviate this pressing health and safety issue, safeguarding the well-being of all who visit the local GP's office.
