Record number of Lamborghinis ever in Ireland coming to Mayo for Cannonball

Cannonball, the action-packed supercar spectacle, will roll from September 15 to 17, and this year the event will have its first finish line in Ballina on Friday, September 15.

The cars will roll in to the north Mayo capital at 6 p.m., where spectators can take a rare opportunity to see the cars up close.

Organisers have confirmed that famed Italian marque Lamborghini will play a starring role this year, with the largest ever number of Lamborghinis in Ireland at one time.

Spectators at Cannonball will get to see stunning models such as the Huracan (STO, EVO, Performante and Fluo Capsule), Urus and Urus Model S, Aventador (S, SVJ and SV), Diablo (GTC), Murciélago and Gallardo.

Fuelled by milesPLUS from Circle K, Cannonball is the largest organised road trip in Europe featuring the finest cars on the planet, from the awe-inspiring power of Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren to the grace and elegance of Porsche, Aston Martin and Maserati.

Cannonball has already raised €1,538,602 for Irish charities and brings a unique and inimitable electric atmosphere to host towns all over the country, making it a widely-anticipated free family event for spectators.

This year the official charity of Cannonball is the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation – an Irish children’s charity that funds and delivers in-home nursing care, respite support and end-of-life care for children who have highly complex and life-limiting medical conditions.

There are families in communities across the country being cared for right now by the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, including 13 families in Mayo. In fact, a total of 100 families in Mayo have been supported by Jack and Jill in Dublin since the charity’s foundation in 1997.

This year's Cannonball event begins at Malahide Castle on Friday, September 15, and spectators can view the cars from Thursday evening (September 14). The cars will depart Malahide at 10.30 a.m., take a fuel stop in Circle K in Kells, Co. Meath, at noon, then blaze a trail to Cavan for a lunch stop at the Slieve Russell Hotel before zooming on to Ballina for the first overnight stop.

On Saturday, September 16, the convoy will leave the Quay in Ballina at 10.30 a.m. and travel to Salthill Hotel, Co. Galway, for lunch at 1 p.m., with a fuel stop at 3.30 p.m. in Circle K, Moneygall, and then a drive onwards to Pery Square, Limerick city, for the second finish line in association with Limerick City and County Council.

On Sunday, September 17, the supercars will leave Limerick city at 10.30 a.m., then fuel up at Circle K in Fermoy and travel onwards to Cork for lunch at Fota Island Resort before a big dramatic final finish line in Kilkenny city at 6 p.m. in association with Kilkenny County Council.

As well as the cars, Cannonball's Brazilian dancers, giant screens, music and fanfare bring all the glamour of carnival, while live DJs, bands and festivals in host towns around the country get the party started.

The Cannonballers and celebrities in colourful costumes add to the melee. From Spiderman to Star Wars, Cat Woman to Wonder Woman, cheerleaders to Charlie’s Angels, Batman, the Joker and more, it is a totally unique free family day out.

This year, organisers are also calling on spectators to dress up in fancy dress with prizes for best dressed.

Cannonball was founded by Kildare businessman Alan Bannon and the benefit to the host towns for this event is estimated at €2,567,000 per year. Cannonball is fuelled by milesPLUS from Circle K as the main headline Sponsor for 2023. The tour sponsor this year is Apache Pizza and Cannonball official partners include Karl Goodwin Motors, AB Signs, HONE Energy, Majestic Ireland Road Trips, Capital Switchgear and SILENT-AIRE.
