Castlebar mourns passing of popular man John Conway
The death has taken place at his home of John Conway (better known as Jackie), 20 Victoria Place, Garryduff, Castlebar, and formerly of Moygownagh, Ballina.
A popular and affable personality, he worked for a number of years as a porter in the Welcome Inn Hotel (now Ivy Tower Hotel).
He was a member of the grounds maintenance staff at Solar 21 Milebush Park, Castlebar, for some time.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife Winfred (Tina) née McDonnell, formerly of Pullathomas, Belmullet, his parents John and Mary Kate Conway, sisters Josie Irwin and Anne Corcoran, and his brother Rick Maughan.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters Phyllis Coughlan (Swinford) and Christina McHale (Crossmolina), brothers Michael Maughan (Galway) and Tommy Maughan (Derby, UK), his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, all the family circle and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
His funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Friday morning at 10.30 for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock.
Afterwards he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Tina in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
