Mayo county town elects new Chamber of Commerce president

Anne Conlon, managing director of All About Sales, has been elected the new president of Castlebar Chamber of Commerce.

She succeeds Bernard Hughes, who served in the role for the past three years.

Anne has been involved in the chamber since 2018 and chaired the enterprise committee, which saw Castlebar win the National Rising Star Award.

She is a past president of Network Ireland Mayo and sits on the national executive of Network Ireland.

Anne thanked outgoing president Bernard Hughes for his service and dedication.

She said: “Bernard was a remarkable leader who has served as our chamber president over the past three years.

"I thank him for his outstanding leadership, dedication and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our chamber.

"His remarkable skills in cultivating a positive and inclusive environment have fostered collaboration and success among our members.”

She further stated: “Castlebar is not just a county town. It is a university town with considerable benefits to living and working here.

"When you see companies like Baxter, Meissner, Fort Wayne, Intersport Elverys, large retail stores and local family businesses in our town, it backs everything the people of Castlebar have known for years: Castlebar is a town to be proud of.”

Anne looks forward to working with the new committee and serving all the chamber members during her term of office.
