Mayo Women's League names its Team of the Year

WITH the domestic season now concluded, the Mayo Women's Football League has announced its 2023 Team of the Year.

It is: Emma Munnelly, Killala, Stacey Freyne, Manulla, Amy Dowling, Castlebar Town, Melissa Devaney, Swinford, Michelle Ruane, Straide & Foxford, Aoife Freyne, Manulla, Tracey Hall, Manulla,Stephanie Loughney, Straide & Foxford, Jessica Nolan, Manulla, Leah McHugh, Conn Rangers, Belinda Patterson, Castlebar Town.

Leah McHugh, Conn Rangers, is the Golden Boot winner with 19 goals for the season - a great return. Her nearest contender was Castlebar Town's Ava Keane with 15 goals in the league.

Player of the Month

The McHale Agri, Forest & Garden Mayo Women's League Player of the Month for September is Tracey Hall from Manulla FC.

In a season in which Manulla won the domestic treble, Tracey secured her place in the football history books with a unique achievement of her own - scoring two hat-tricks in successive cup finals.

This exceptional talent registered her first hat-trick in the Rumley Cup final at the start of the month and repeated the feat a week later in the Mayo Women's Cup final.

A memorable week and season for this stalwart of the Manulla team.

Under 19 Cup

The final of the Mayo Under 19 Cup takes place next Sunday, September 24, in Solar 21 Park, Castlebar, at 2 p.m., when Swinford and Manulla will go head to head.

Swinford will be hoping to make it a double, adding to their Under 19 league title.
