Generally dry day with some scattered showers
Weather update from Met Éireann
Mixed and, at times unsettled, this weekend and early next week. Noticeably cooler on Monday. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann heading into the weekend.
Generally dry today, Friday, with sunny spells and well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, in a mostly light to moderate west to southwest wind, fresher at times in the north and northwest.
Mostly dry at first tonight, with just isolated showers. Cloud will thicken from the south overnight with rain and drizzle developing in the west and southwest. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light southerly or variable breezes becoming light to moderate southeast towards morning.
Wet and breezy conditions will spread countrywide on Saturday morning, with some heavy falls, especially in parts of Munster and south Leinster, bringing a risk of spot flooding. The rain will gradually clear northeastwards during the afternoon and evening. A fresh and gusty southeast to south wind will develop, becoming south to southwest and gradually easing later. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.
Dry in many areas to begin with on Saturday night, with variable cloud and some clear breaks, although patchy rain or showers may affect southern and southeastern coastal areas for a time. Scattered showers will move into the west and northwest overnight. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a light to moderate south to southwest wind, fresh and gusty near western and northwestern coasts.
Sunday will bring a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers will become increasingly confined to the west and northwest during the afternoon with most places becoming dry by evening. Cloud will gradually thicken from the south later. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in a light to moderate southwesterly wind.
Mostly dry Sunday night apart from isolated showers near Atlantic coasts, with cloud continuing to build from the south. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop in southern coastal areas later in the night. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees with light southerly or variable breezes.
Scattered outbreaks of rain will become more widespread and heavier during Monday. Cooler than of late with highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.
Tuesday looks set to be a breezy day with a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers. Highs of 14 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds.
Wednesday will likely be another cool, but mostly dry and bright day. Current indications suggest a return to relatively mild but rather changeable and at times unsettled conditions after that.
