Burglaries on the rise in Mayo as residents told to be alert

CSO figures show a rise of 153 burglaries recorded in Mayo this year compared to the same period last year, with a spate of incidents reported the east of the county.

Gardaí have also confirmed they are investigating a spate of burglaries that occurred over the last number of days in the east Mayo region.

Three houses in the Aghamore area and one property in Ballyhaunis were broken into.

Gardaí are reminding homeowners throughout the county to be vigilant, ensure your home is protected and contact your local station to report any suspicious activity.
