Collaboration brings life-saving defibrillator to Mayo village

Eco Powered Cabinets has joined forces with local business O'Malley Tarmacadam to install a defibrillator on the outside walls of O'Malley Tarmacadam in Ballynew, Turlough Road, Castlebar.

This life-saving device is now readily accessible to both O’Malley’s staff and the people of Castlebar.

The brainchild behind this initiative is the founder of Eco Powered Cabinets, Darren Forde, who has worked tirelessly to acquire, install and provide essential training for the solar-powered defibrillator scheme across the country.

O’Malley’s Tarmacadam further demonstrated their commitment to the community by inviting neighbours to an information evening, publicising this new life-saving technology.

Residents received letters delivered to their doors, ensuring that everyone in the vicinity was aware of the presence of this critical resource along the Old Turlough Road in Ballynew.

Several local residents have come to O’Malley’s offices to see the life-saving technology in action, they learned basic CPR skills and viewed a demonstration from Darren Forde.

Adding to their impressive credentials, Eco Powered Cabinets holds an NSAI Certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management System, underscoring their commitment to safety in their workplace.

The defibrillator is also registered with the National Ambulance Service, ensuring swift and accurate response during emergencies.
