Death of popular Castlebar personality is deeply regretted

The death has occurred of Patrick (Patsy) Jordan, Ballynew, Castlebar.

He died on Saturday in the tender care of Mayo University Hospital and surrounded by his loving family.

A widely popular and respected personality, many tributes have been paid to him on social media where he was described as 'a lovely, quite gentleman' and 'a lovely man to have a chat with'.

Patsy was a former member of the outdoor staff of Mayo County Council and was attached to the Castlebar area office.

Predeceased by his parents Johnny and Mamie Jordan, Ballynew, he is deeply regretted by his loving sisters Kathleen (London) and Una Cresham (Altrincham, Manchester), brothers Michael (Fermanagh), Tony (Middleborough), John and Frank (Ballynew), brother-in-law Tommy Cresham, sisters-in-law Moya, Patsy, Bernadette and Elaine, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Patrick’s remains will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Tuesday evening from 5.30 to 7.15 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place on Wednesday 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, followed by cremation service in Lakelands Crematorium at 3 p.m.
