Mayo communities mourn passing of Kathleen Mulgrew

Communities in west Mayo are mourning the passing of Kathleen Mulgrew (née Gibbons), Ballymacrah, Castlebar, and late of Cordarragh, Aughagower,

Widely admired as a lovely lady, she died peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Cuian Chathríona Nursing Home, Castlebar.

Kathleen is deeply regretted by her loving family: daughters Mary (Sweeney, Cork), Anne (Dublin), Bernadette (Johnson, Blachardstown), Geraldine (Spain) and Martina (Fitzgerald, Belfast), sons Sean and Padraic, brother Willie Gibbons (Aughagower), sons-in-law Mark and Ultan, partners Jens and Javier, daughters-in-law Pauline and Mary, grandchildren Caoimhe, Daire, Sean, Ciaran, Dervala, Evan, Ciara, Medb, Naoise, Aoife, Fionn and Alannah, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Sympathy is extended to the Mulgrew family on their loss.

She was predeceased by her husband John Joe, daughter Teresa, grandson Oisín, sisters Maureen and Bridie, brother Paddy, sons-in-law James and Nigel.

Interment took place on Saturday in the New Cemetery, Castlebar, after Requiem Mass in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

The large attendance at the funeral ceremonies bore testimony to the high esteem in which Kathleen was held.
