Flooding issues reported in Mayo due to heavy storm rain

A number of flooding issues have been reported across Mayo as a result of the heavy rains associated with Storm Debi.

Gardai have identied the following locations as being impacted.

Flooding on the Louisburgh to Westport Road at Lecanvey.

Surface flooding at St. Muredach's Gate in Ballina.

Flooding in the vicinity Coscutters on the Killala Road in Ballina.

Flooding at Carrowkelly between Cullens NS and Belleek, Ballina.

Flooding at the Co-Op on the Ballina to Crossmolina Road.

Flooding between Crossmolina village and the GAA pitch.

Gardai are advising motorists to exercise extra caution on the roads as there may be disruption with fallen trees and flooding.

A Status Yellow warning remains in place in Mayo until 3 p.m.

Nationwide, over 60,000 properties have lost their ESB power while gusts of 115km/h were recorded in Athenry, Co. Galway.
