Fine Gael selects its Westport candidates for local elections

FINE Gael in Westport has selected its candidates for next year's local elections.

Sitting Councillor Peter Flynn will be joined by new candidate Keira Keogh on the ballot paper next June.

Peter Flynn served 10 years with Westport Town Council before becoming a county councillor in 2009. After taking a break for one term, he returned to the political arena in the last local elections.

Keira Keogh (37) is a first time election candidate who feels that her background as a self-employed behaviour consultant working with neurodiverse children, alongside her long standing membership in JCI (Junior Chamber International), has prepared her greatly for the role.

Keira's family run The Helm, a popular tourism business, at Westport Quay.
