Runway end safety area works underway at Ireland West Airport

WORKS on the runway end safety areas are underway at Ireland West Airport.

As part of its continued focus on enhancing safety and security measures at the airport to ensure compliance with international safety and security regulations, the airport is currently undertaking works on the runway end safety areas at the west end of the runway.

The works, which are taking place at night during non-operational hours, will further enhance these areas, ensuring continued compliance with Irish Aviation Authority standards in the event of an emergency situation.

The airport has reported that the works will be ongoing for the next number of weeks, with a completion date of December 22.

Local contractors Harrington's Concrete & Quarries Ltd. are doing the works.
