Road gritter deployed in Mayo due to drop in temperature
Mayo county council announced gritters will be on the road as frosty conditions are expected, according to the latest forecast.
Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17
Tomorrow you can expect a chilly but sunny start to your Friday, with temperatures ranging from 7 to 11 degrees Celsius.
However, the pleasant weather will be short-lived as clouds build up from the south west, bringing rain in the afternoon. Initially, light south west winds will back south easterly and strengthen with the approaching rain.
Looking ahead, the national outlook for Mayo suggests unsettled conditions, marked by intermittent rain and showers.
As night falls on Friday, a wet and blustery start will give way to the north eastward clearance of rain, paving the way for clear spells.
The west will see some showers, and winds, initially fresh to strong from the south east, will veer south to south west by morning, moderating somewhat.
Overnight temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees Celsius initially, rising to double figures by morning.
