Celebration of local talent at Mayo author's book launch

NEXT Saturday, December 9, Castlebar's literary scene will be abuzz by the launch of Colleen Coleman's latest novel, The Irish Lake House, at Castle Book Shop. This event promises an evening of storytelling, festive cheer, and community spirit.

Coleman, a Swinford native and daughter of Lorcan and Betty Cribbin, has become a beacon of international literary success. With five best-selling novels to her name, she has won readers' hearts and topped charts across the UK, USA, Australia and Canada, and her works have been translated into seven languages.

Her success doesn't end with print; her stories have also been brought to life in audiobook format, voiced by Newstalk's Clare McKenna and esteemed Irish actress Roisin Rankin.

Impressively, The Irish Lake House has been nominated for the prestigious Contemporary Novel of the Year Award by the Romantic Novel Association.

This heart-warming tale follows Daisy Clarke on a journey of self-discovery after inheriting a lake house on Ireland's picturesque west coast.

At the launch, attendees will be treated to a live reading from Coleman herself. Plus, you'll have the chance to get your copy signed - a perfect Christmas gift for the book lovers in your life.

By popping along, you'll be supporting not only a local author but also Castlebar's independent bookshops. So, drop by, soak up the festive atmosphere, and celebrate the power of Irish writing.
