Mayo school visits Dáil - it's a tradition!

PUPILS from a north Mayo primary school visited Dáil Éireann today, keeping up what is now a well established tradition.

The annual tour from St. Joseph's National School, Rehins, Ballina, began when local Deputy Dara Calleary was first elected.

Not only have they not missed one year sicne that they haven't paid a visit, they've gone to Leinster House on the same week every year.

The Fianna Fáil TD was delighted to welcome the school again.

He wrote on his social media: 'St. Joseph’s NS have been visiting me in Dáil Éireann on this week every year since I was first elected - I am thrilled that this year's 6th class have kept that tradition going by accepting my invitation to a tour of Leinster House today.

'It really is great to have you all - hope you enjoy your visit.'
