Two yellow wind warnings for Mayo

TWO status yellow wind warnings have been issued for Mayo over the weekend as Storm Elin hits Ireland.

The first warning came into place this morning and continues throughout the day until 6 p.m., with strong and gusty west to northwest winds and the potential for wave overtoppping.

A second status yellow wind warning for Galway, Mayo, Sligo will be in place from midday Sunday until 6 p.m. Impacts will include difficult travelling conditions, with debris and loose objects displaced.

Orange wind warnings have been issued today for counties Donegal, Dublin and Wicklow, who look set to bear the brunt of Storm Elin, with gale force west to northwest winds and severe gusts, causing disruption and travelling difficulties.
