Mayo communities mourn passing of Paul Mayock

The death has occurred of Paul Mayock, Ross, Castlebar, and late of Ballyknock, Bofeenaun.

He died peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by his loving family.

A popular and respected member of the local community, he operated a travelling shop for many years.

Described as 'one of life's nicest people' in a social media tribute, his passing has evoked an immense sense of loss and sorrow.

He is deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife and soulmate Maureen, son John, daughters Paula, Breda and Emer, sister Bernie (Sr. Rose-Marie), grandchildren Diarmuid, Lughaidh, Rosa, Louisa, Iosaf, Saoirse and Líadan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, wonderful neighbours and very many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Paul was predeceased by his son Gerard, parents John and Bridget, brothers and sisters.

His remains will repose at his home in Ross (F23 A326) on Tuesday from 2.30 to 5 p.m. (House private please at all other times).

Removal on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St. Michael’s Church, Crimlin.

Paul will be laid to rest afterwards in Elmhall Cemetery, Belcarra.
