Croagh Patrick ambassador programme recruiting

THE Croagh Patrick Ambassador Programme is officially launching for a second year and 12 new ambassadors are being recruited.

The aim of the programme is to increase public awareness of the importance of care and respect for our natural heritage, to empower positive behavioural change and develop skills around outdoor recreation so that locals and visitors can continue to enjoy and protect Croagh Patrick and its surrounds.

This month 12 new ambassadors are being recruited to join the programme for 2024. They will receive bespoke training on the natural and cultural heritage of the mountain, and how the programme is working to promote responsible and sustainable access to Croagh Patrick.

This training will include certified Leave No Trace Ireland courses, enabling the ambassadors to help visitors appreciate the importance of preserving the wealth of heritage the area is home to.

Applications are open until Wednesday, January 31, at 1 p.m.

Full details and application form are available on https://www.leavenotraceireland.org/.
