Request for lighting and footpaths at north Mayo funeral home

THE urgent need to address safety at the funeral home in Crossmolina has been highlighted by local Councillor Michael Loftus.

A serious accident occurred outside the funeral home, which is on the Ballina Road, at 6.30 p.m. last Saturday evening, he reported. Miraculously, no one walking in or out of the funeral was hurt.

Highlighting the issue on social media, Councillor Loftus stated: “I have been repeatedly looking for footpaths and lighting to be provided on both sides of this funeral home, to be told by TII that it is not allowed.

“I again will be requesting this at the next Ballina Municipal District meeting on January 24.”

Councillor Loftus praised the Crossmolina firefighters, ambulance crew and members of An Garda Síochána for their quick response to the accident.
