The following are the latest death and funeral notices from the county.

MARY HERATY, CASTLEBAR

Mary Heraty (née Duffy), Cloonkeen, Castlebar and formerly of Drummin, Westport.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John (Johnny) and her parents Peter and Annie Duffy and her sister-in-law Mary Duffy (Swinford).

Mary will be sadly missed by her brothers Joe (Swinford), Peter (Dublin), Michael Joe (Drummin), Gerry (Drummin), her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Mary started her working life as a young girl in Travenol Laboratories (now Baxter Healthcare), Castlebar where she made many lifelong friends. She later worked in Davitt House, Bests Castlebar and she finished her working career in Dunnes Stores, Castlebar. Mary was a people person and she loved nothing more than meeting and chatting with friends old and new. She had a pleasant disposition which endeared her to the many people she came in contact with during her working day. Mary had a great interest in fashion and style and always had a smile for everyone.

Mary married the love of her life John Heraty and they set up home in Cloonkeen, Castlebar where they enjoyed their life until John’ s health deteriorated and eventually his illness required him to be hospitalised. Mary visited her beloved John twice or three times most days, while he was in hospital but sadly John passed away in 2013. A heartbroken Mary continued to work but her own health deteriorated, and she retired from the job she loved in recent years.

Mary will repose in St. Aiden’s Room, St Patrick’s Church, Islandeady, Castlebar on Thursday, January 11 from 6 p.m. with removal to the adjoining church at 7.30 p.m.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12noon in St. Patrick’s Church , Islandeady.

Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved husband John in Islandeady cemetery.

KATHLEEN HAMMOND, BALLYCASTLE

Kathleen Hammond (née Morris) MBE, The Glen House, Ballycastle, and Penarth, South Wales.

Sadly missed by her loving daughter and son, Sabina and Damian, daughter-in-law Claire Hammond and son-in-law Anthony Kelly, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Lynn's Funeral Home, Killala, on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Funeral arriving to St Brigid's Church, Ballycastle on Monday for Requiem mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Ballycastle Cemetery.

MICHAEL GERARD DUFFY, BALLA

Michael Gerard Duffy, Killiney, formerly of Kiltimagh Road, Balla.

He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine, and cherished children, Ciarán, Ronan, Sinead, their partners Catie and Marina, his grandchildren Cillian and Alejandra, family and friends.

Michael will be dearly missed by his brothers, Padraig, Joe, Paul, Robert and Cyril, their partners and children.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated carers who provided compassionate support during his journey.

Reposing at home in Killiney on Thursday, January 11 from 5 p.m.

Arriving at St. Cronan's church Balla in County Mayo at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Requiem Mass to follow at 2 p.m.

Michael will be laid to rest afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
