Wintry showers could be on the horizon, according to the latest forecast.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 16

Residents in the region should prepare for severe frost and icy conditions in the morning.

The day will start with mostly cloudy skies, accompanied by outbreaks of rain, predominantly in the north, with additional sleet or snowfall.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, the rain will gradually dissipate, allowing for sporadic sunny spells, though it will drift further south.

Temperature highs are forecasted to range from 3 to 6 degrees, accompanied by mostly moderate south west to west winds, occasionally fresh to strong in the north west.

The outlook indicates a very cold week ahead, marked by widespread frost and icy conditions, posing potential travel hazards.

Dry weather is expected for most regions, except the north and north west, where wintry showers are anticipated.

Tuesday night will see patchy clouds, light rain, and drizzle in the southern half, while the northern areas experience clear spells with isolated rain, sleet, and snow near coastal areas. Lows between -4 to -1 degrees will lead to a sharp to severe frost, icy stretches, and the possibility of fog.
