Call for reinstatement of postbox in Mayo county town

CASTLEBAR Councillor Ger Deere has called for the reinstatement of a postbox on the Rathbawn Road area of the town that was removed some months ago.

The Fine Gael councillor has been contacted by a large number of constituents who used the postbox on a regular basis.

“The postbox had been at this particular location for generations,” said Councillor Deere, and it saved people from the general area from having to go into the centre of town to post letters.

“I have contacted An Post to ascertain if it is going to be reinstated at its previous location or at a new location in the area,” he added.
