Mayo breastfeeding support group celebrates first anniversary

CASTLEBAR Breastfeeding Support Group has celebrated turning one.

A first birthday celebration was held at Le Cheile family resource centre in Castlebar to mark the occasion.

The group was relaunched in January 2023 after the Covid pandemic and is facilitated by community HSE lactation consultant in Mayo, Claire Larkin.

Eight mums and babies braved the snow in recent days to celebrate the milestone with Claire and Le Cheile staff member Phil.

The group is held every Thursday in Le Cheile from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., providing a safe space where mums and babies come together every week.
