Tributes to Mayo teacher Eddie Molloy on his passing
The death of Edward (Eddie) Molloy, Ashvilla, Cappagh, Castlebar, is widely mourned in the community.
He died unexpectedly at Mayo University Hospital on Sunday surrounded by his loving family.
A retired member of the teaching staff of St. Patrick's National School, Castlebar, warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.
One stated: "I will never forget his kindness, generously and good humour."
"A lovely man and a great character," another said.
A further tribute stated: "A truly kind and caring person and a marvellous teacher. A true gentleman."
Predeceased by his parents Mary and Garrett, he is deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Detta, sons Ultan, Éamon, Gearód, Liam and Ronan, daughters-in-law Laura and Maresa, his beautiful grandchildren Rose, Neillí, June, Edward and Murchadh, sisters Bridget, Mary and Helen, brothers Charlie and Gary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
The family greatly appreciate all the support from neighbours, relatives and friends at this difficult time.

Eddie will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m, to his residence.
Removal from his residence on Friday morning at 10.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Eddie will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
