Library launches reusable party kits initiative

MAYO County Library has launched a new initiative that will make party celebrations environmentally friendly.

Reusable party kits are now available to borrow from two branches in the county.

Castlebar Library hosted the launch of the new kits, which are a brilliant initiative by the environment, climate and agriculture section of Mayo County Council.

Cathaoirleach Councillor Michael Loftus was on hand to launch the initiative.

The idea is simple in that your borrow, party, and then return.

Borrow: A kit containing 30 each of plates, beakers, knives, forks and spoons, along with reusable bunting and two trays.

Party: Whether it's a birthday party, Communion, Confirmation or a sports get-together, the event is covered.

Return: Return the kit, fully washed (all items are dishwasher safe) and intact, and get your €30 deposit back.
