A celebration of Seamus Heaney at Westport House

THE National Library of Ireland is presenting the highly acclaimed exhibition, 'Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again', hosted at Westport House.

This captivating display, previously in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Europe and the USA, has garnered widespread acclaim for its exploration of the revered Irish poet Seamus Heaney's life and work.

Scheduled to run from February 1 to 18, the Listen Now Again exhibition will be housed in the historic Long Gallery on the ground floor of Westport House.

Opening its doors to the public Wednesday through Sunday, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., this remarkable showcase will feature a collection of visually stunning pull-up banners that bring Heaney's literary legacy to life.

To enhance accessibility, complimentary tickets for this literary celebration are available to walk-in visitors at the front door of Westport House - there is no need to book in advance. Visitors are also invited to explore the main floor of Westport House at no additional cost.

If you’d like to bring a group of 15 or more people to visit, please email info@westporthouse.ie to arrange.

Given the exhibition's coincidental timing with the midterm break and Seamus Heaney's inclusion in the Leaving Cert 2024 curriculum, local schools are anticipated to find this event particularly appealing.

The official launch event is scheduled to take place in Westport House on Thursday, February 1, from 5 to 6 p.m., with the director of the National Library of Ireland, Audrey Whitty, in attendance. The launch is an open event, and all are welcome.

Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Seamus Heaney's literary legacy.
